It has all come down to this. As I am sure you all know, here in New Jersey Election Day is next Tuesday, November 3rd. So, right now, Jon Corzine and Loretta Weinberg need our help during this final stretch run. Your support and hard work could make the difference in one of the most important races in the country, and in the most important gubernatorial race I have seen in my lifetime.
Please find a Victory 09’ Office near you to pitch in and help out. With so much at stake, every phone call made, envelope stuffed or door knocked over the next few days could very well make all the difference.
This election is simply too important for anyone to sit on the sidelines. In tough times, Governor Corzine is standing up for New Jersey’s families. He’s worked hard to provide healthcare coverage for more children and protect property tax rebates for seniors and working families. Governor Corzine’s investments in health care, green technology and education have shown that he is the leader New Jersey needs to get us through these difficult times.
Republicans think that if they win in New Jersey and Virginia, they will have a mandate to continue their backwards-thinking policies nationwide. So, we are going to have to work extra-hard over these final, crucial days to help Jon Corzine and Loretta Weinberg emerge victorious on Election Day.
President Obama knows the stakes of this election, and that is why he’s coming back to New Jersey this weekend.I hope you’ll join us Sunday at 11:30 a.m. for a special GOTV rally with President Barack Obama at the Prudential Center in Newark. Governor Corzine has been a true leader during the nationwide economic recession. Jon Corzine proposed the first-in-the-nation stimulus package that helped stave off fiscal disaster. He made New Jersey a leader in renewable energy and green technology. He’s created jobs and invested in small business. And he continues to work towards providing health insurance for everyone. This is the record of an effective Governor – and Jon Corzine deserves 4 more years to build on his many accomplishments.
On the other hand, Chris Christie has been wrong when it matters most – siding with George W. Bush and big corporations instead of New Jersey’s families. Chris Christie is a Bush acolyte who even received the distinct (yet dubious) honor of becoming a "Bush Pioneer" due to his prodigious fundraising. We should not be surprised when Christie says he would have rejected stimulus funding – which would have cost New Jersey jobs, necessary infrastructure investment and even higher property taxes. We simply can not have Chris Christie and his Bush-league economic and social policies in the Statehouse.
There are just a few short days left to help boost the Corzine-Weinberg ground game during this crucial GOTV weekend. We must work as hard as possible over the next few days to re-elect Jon Corzine and make Loretta Weinberg our state’s first Lieutenant Governor.
